Insights Hub – unified space for market analysis

Objective

Transform the research experience on trading platforms, providing users with a centralised hub for fundamental analysis tools and resources.

Apply the design process, with goal to create a centralised and intuitive navigation system across web, iOS, and Android trading platforms for fundamentals research tools.

Empower users with in-platform analysis tools to make informed trading decisions.

Scope

  • Design and implement a cohesive navigation structure for Insights domain.
  • Consolidate research tools, including news, client sentiment, trading activity, financial reports, company fundamentals, and economic data.
  • Ensure consistency and usability across web, iOS, and Android platforms, catering to the unique interaction patterns and design guidelines of each platform.
  • Establish a modular architecture that allows for easy integration of new research tools and features over time.

Process

User research – conduct user interviews on how users do pre-trade market analysis, what sources and tools they are using. How their decision making changed over the years?

Workshop – ideation and collaboration with designers and stakeholders to generate creative solutions that address user needs and align with project goals.

Information architecture – evaluate current navigation to market analysis:

  • What lives there? Can tools be grouped into logical categories and subcategories?
  • Is it easy to discover?
  • Any pain points?

Ideate an prototype the navigation structure and user flows across different platforms.

Usability testing of the solution to gather user feedback on new market details screens with new nav

Development and Integration – creating development plant and phases on changes with keeping in mind of easy user transition to new interface structure and to deliver changes with values

  • Lots of client requests to add Client sentiment and analysis

Phase 1

  • Developing IG Client Sentiment to platforms (native implementation on mobile)
  • Surfacing link to more market details on IG website
  • Coachmarks on Mobile platforms for changes and to bring user attention to research area

Planning on systematically deliver a navigation system for the Insights Hub that meets user needs, aligns with project goals, and evolves over time to support the changing needs of traders and investors.
